Kevin Brown for State Representative
Did you know that for the current budget we are in, the politicians in charge in Concord raised or created over 38 taxes and fees. These have an impact on each one of us because they were projected to raise an additional $318 million over the two year budget. Some of these taxes we face each day like the increase in the meals and rooms tax, increased car and truck registration, and of course the new tax on small businesses, known as the LLC tax. For a more complete list please visit http://nhgop.org/pages/detail/27.
According to the non-partisan NH Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy, the current budget will be facing a deficit of more than $200 million dollars, and the next budget will be even worse. Without a meaningful cut in spending, the next budget will be facing a deficit of more than $625 million dollars!!
The New Hampshire Union Leader reported in Sunday's paper the following, "IF YOU LIKE tax talk, you'll love the House Ways and Means Committee meeting tomorrow. It already had Lynch's latest tobacco tax increase under consideration. And there's the proposed pet shop license fee increase. But wait. There's more.
Try the electric generation tax, a nuclear fuel tax, a capital gains tax hooked to the interests and dividends tax and a change in the insurance premium tax on for size. All are up for discussion tomorrow." Are you starting to get the feeling that Concord is getting way out of touch with the people they are suppose to be representing? Please stay informed on these and other important issues. Join me in the fight to take back Concord!
New Hampshire is in a fiscal crisis and together this November we are going to fix the problem. We must cut spending at the state level, then we must work to reduce the overall tax burden in New Hampshire. We are a great state and we must work aggressively to recruit new companies to New Hampshire. This will help provide much needed jobs within our state.
New Hampshire is projected to be facing a $600-$800 million budget deficit in the next 2 year budget. If we do not change the leadership in our state now, we will be facing even more taxes and more fees over the coming years. Together, on November 2nd, we can bring New Hampshire values and common sense back to the state house. Please join me in making New Hampshire the greatest state in the union.
